Our client, an industrial distributor, traces its beginnings
back to 1926. The company has five stocking locations: Downers
Grove, Illinois; Fullerton, California; Shakopee, Minnesota;
Ellisville, Missouri; Oakwood Village, Ohio. These facilities have
knowledgeable salespeople and support personnel dedicated to
serving the customers' needs. Ten area sales engineers are located
throughout the region to work with customers' design, manufacturing
and purchasing personnel. The role defined This role requires both
inbound and outbound inside sales activity. First and foremost
handling the reactive orders from existing customers is a priority.
Second, upsell to existing customers by identifying additional
needs or selling ad-on items and/or product specials. Finally sales
calls to qualified prospects and cold calling for new customers is
a key part of the role.
This individual is responsible for interfacing with customers prior
to and/or after sale. This means developing and maintaining
positive customer relations and coordinating with various functions
within the company to ensure customer requests are handled
appropriately and in a timely manner.
The Inside Sales Supervisor is responsible for selling corporate
products or services through the achievement of opportunity-based
sales quotas. This individual will reach business targets through
excellent telephone sales and communications skills. She or he will
also develop his or her phone-based revenue generation through the
creation of sales leads, initiation of prospect calls, and
establishment of ongoing rapport with existing and potential
customers. Integrity, vision, and passion are essential for this

--- Supervises and directs inside sales personnel. Leads overall
direction, coordination, and evaluation.
--- Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to
develop and improve the inside sales function.
--- Plans, assigns, and directs reactive and proactive inside sales
activity and process.
--- Handles orders by mail, telephone, fax, email, or Internet
through Pre and Post sales
--- Collaborate with Inside Sales Manager and Inside Sales staff to
determine necessary strategic sales approaches.
--- Maintain and expand the company's database of prospects.
--- Cold-call prospects that are generated by external sources of
--- Identify decision makers within targeted leads to begin sales
--- Penetrate all targeted accounts and radiate sales from within
existing client base.
--- Create and deliver qualified opportunities to Inside Sales
staff where appropriate.
--- Ensure follow-up by passing leads to Inside Sales staff with
calls-to action, dates, complete profile information, sources, and
--- Set up and deliver sales presentations, product/service
demonstrations, and other inside sales actions to prospects.
--- Create RFP responses to potential clients.
--- Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and convert them
--- Overcome objections of prospective customers.
--- Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices,
discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or
--- Enter new customer data and update changes to existing accounts
in the corporate database.

--- Follow-up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates.
--- Receive and handle any customer complaints
--- Ensures quotes are handled in a timely manner
--- Maintain customer name and address database
--- Purchase non-stock inventory from identified sources for order
fulfillment including follow up activities, expediting, etc.
--- Purchase, expedite, and other related duties for stock
inventory as required.
--- Assist other departments within organization to prepare or
distribute manuals, product brochures, and technical publications.
Experience and skill sets Minimum Qualifications (Education,
--- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one
to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience
--- Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word and

--- Familiar with current product lines and customer base
--- Excellent customer relationship skills
--- Organized with an ability to know reseller activities and
status on an ongoing basis.
