Job Description:

Position Summary: - The Credit Analyst is responsible for identifying and resolving unapplied credits and credit balances issued by insurance companies or clients that result in applying the credit or initiating a refund.

Essential Duties:

• 
  
• Research and identify reason for unapplied credit and/or credit balance and apply the credit or initiate the refund in a timely manner
  
• Identify credit trends and work collaboratively with the appropriate team to resolve
  
• Respond to refund requests from insurance companies in a timely manner
  
• Understand payer guidelines for overpayments
  
• Meet department goals to reduce outstanding unapplied credit and credit balances
  
• Contact insurance companies to verify pay to information, validate mail to address, and obtain a W-9
  
• Perform other duties as assigned
  
  
  Position Requirements & Competencies:
  
  • 
    
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
    
  • Minimum 3 years of healthcare revenue cycle experience (ie, Cash Application, Billing, or Collections)
    
  • Advanced computer proficiency including Microsoft office (ie. Excel, Word, and Outlook)
    
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
    
  • Must be well organized and detail-oriented
    
  • Must have experience reading and understanding an explanation of benefits
    
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
    
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels within the company and with external resources
    
  • Ability to work independently
