Job Description:
Job Description Job Description TBS is looking for an additional
Sandblaster to join our team. The ideal candidate will have
experience with sandblasting, as well as a strong attention to
detail. They will be responsible for Sandblasting various metal
surfaces to remove paint, rust, or other debris. The Sandblaster
will also be responsible for ensuring that the surfaces are
properly prepared for Powder Coating. Duties & Responsibilities
Operate sandblasting equipment to clean metal surfaces Read and
interpret specifications to determine the best way to set up the
sandblasting equipment Set up the sandblasting equipment, including
the air compressor, hoses, and nozzles, according to the
manufacturer’s instructions Move the nozzle of the sandblasting
equipment over the surface to be cleaned, using a back-and-forth
motion, overlapping strokes, or circular patterns Inspect the
surface after sandblasting to ensure that it meets the
specifications Clean the sandblasting equipment after use to
prevent corrosion Sandblasters need the following skills to be
successful: Safety: Safety is an important skill for Sandblasters
to have because it ensures their well-being and the safety of
others. Safety involves knowing how to handle chemicals, equipment,
and other materials safely. It also involves knowing how to handle
a situation if something goes wrong. For example, if a fire starts,
a sandblaster should know how to put it out. Communication:
Sandblasters often work in teams, so communication skills can help
them work efficiently with others. They also communicate with
customers to understand their needs and explain the process of
sandblasting. Communication skills can also help them communicate
safety information to their team members. Physical fitness:
Physical fitness is an important skill for this job. Attention to
detail: Sandblasters use attention to detail to ensure they apply
the correct amount of pressure to the surface they’re working on.
They also use this skill to make sure they don’t miss any spots.
Patience: Patience is another skill that can help you be a more
effective Sandblaster. You may need to wait for the right
conditions to apply the right amount of pressure to the surface
you’re working on. You can also use patience when working with
clients to help them understand the process of sandblasting and why
you may need to stop and start the process. Required Skills and
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Proven experience
as a sandblaster Ability to operate sandblasting equipment
Excellent physical stamina and strength Good eyesight and color
vision Attention to detail
