Job Description Job Description Maintenance Technician The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance on production equipment, facilities, and systems to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a Direct Hire role located by Wood Dale, IL. Key Responsibilities: Perform breakdown maintenance and respond promptly to equipment failures, troubleshooting and resolving issues to minimize production interruptions. Execute preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules, including inspections, adjustments, cleaning, and repairs of machinery and facility systems. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, timesheets, and completed work orders. Collaborate with production operators and supervisors to identify and resolve equipment issues, ensuring timely communication and follow-through. Adhere to company safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and standard operating procedures at all times. Proactively investigate and address potential issues before they escalate, maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Train and mentor new technicians as needed, sharing best practices and safety protocols. Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as mixers, ovens, packaging/automation systems, and refrigeration units, depending on facility needs. Work scheduled shifts, including possible overtime and weekend maintenance days, and respond to after-hours emergencies as required. Qualifications: 2 years of experience in maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing, food production, or industrial setting. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills; experience with automation and packaging equipment is a plus. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work instructions. Good attendance, reliability, and willingness to work in varying environments (including refrigerated areas). Excellent communication skills and a proactive, self-driven approach to problem-solving. Must provide own tools and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
