Job Posting: Insurance Defense Attorney *Confidential application process* Location: Chicago One of our top clients is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Defense Attorney to join our litigation team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated attorney with a strong background in insurance defense to handle a diverse and challenging caseload. The firm specailizes in Martime and Transportation defense. Responsibilities: Independently manage and litigate a full range of insurance defense cases, including but not limited to transportation accidents, admilarty and maritime, and general liability matters. Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis. Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and responses. Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts. Evaluate settlement opportunities and participate in negotiations and mediations. Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, arbitrations, and trials. Provide timely and effective communication with clients and insurance carriers. Maintain meticulous and organized case files. Adhere to the highest ethical standards and professional responsibilities. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois. A minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing law, with a primary focus on insurance defense litigation, tort or toxic tort. Demonstrated success in all phases of litigation, from inception through resolution or trial. Strong understanding of Illinois civil procedure and insurance law principles. Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Exceptional oral advocacy and negotiation abilities. Ability to work autonomously and manage a significant caseload effectively. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in legal research databases and standard office software.
