Job Description Job Description NETWORK SUPPORT CUSTOMER SERVICE HELP DESK TECHNICIAN This position will be the first line of contact with customers. They will assist in troubleshooting customer issues and working with Sr, engineering team to resolve any issues. It is expected that the individual is interested in pursuing a career in the IT field and already has a strong understanding of networks, computers servers, routers, switches and wireless devices. This is position requires that you work from our Oak Forest, Illinois office. This is not a work from home position. Requirements: Excellent verbal, written and telephone communication skills Experience in troubleshooting technical issues Familiarity with IP networking principles Prior help desk or support experience Windows Desktop and Microsoft Server Experience Experience in troubleshooting technical issues Able to manage and prioritize given tasks Able to Working independently Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail Experience with Windows Desktop OS 11 & Linux Previous help-desk experience a plus Responsibilities: First point of contact on all support requests Providing Level 1/Level 2 Network Technical Support Knowledge of Layer 2 & 3 network models including switch configurations including VLAN's Managing desktops/Phones/Printers Manage inventory Trouble shooting desktop related issues Trouble shooting Microwave Radio (WiFi) issues Imaging desktops and keeping images up to date Active Directory/Domain Administration Linux Server administration Create and maintain network documentation Provide technical support to governmental, commercial and residential customers Answer customer questions over the phone and via email Assist with scheduling of field crew for installations and repairs Monitor the performance of radios, network equipment and servers and respond to issues Assist with installation and provisioning of wireless internet service Responsible for customer service calls with existing customers and clients Assist with in house sales of Internet services, Veeam Backup, VoIP services Assist with Cyber Security Audits Assist with customer billing Assist with monitoring network uptime and events Knowledge and experience that is helpful : Linux OS Cisco CCNA Basic Programing languages Python & PHP Prior Help Desk or end user support experience 1-3 years' experience in the IT field Company Description Urban Communications, Inc. is a leading provider of Broadband services located in the South/South West Suburbs of Chicago.
