In this role, you will support a cross-functional group of business leaders at the Elkay and Plumbing Division corporate offices, based out of Downers Grove, IL. Groups supported include, but aren't limited to: Engineering, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, IT, HR, and E-Commerce Sales. Provide business partner leadership, change management support, leadership coaching, and employee advocacy and support.This role is strategic and hands-on and is responsible for the execution of full-cycle Human Resources support. The role is critical in devising local organization effectiveness and talent development strategies, while executing people initiatives, providing internal customer support, fostering and enhancing the organization's culture, and driving HR functional excellence. This role will participate on corporate-wide projects and teams as deemed appropriate.--Specific duties include:
    • Provide day-to-day Human Resources support to front line and senior level leaders and employees.
    • Provide organizational development for the organization by measuring organizational effectiveness (organizational health and organizational performance) and capability and analyzing data to determine root causes and identify interventions. Partner and collaborate with internal and external resources with expertise to address the issues, oversee implementation and evaluate results.
    • Analyze trends and metrics in collaboration with broader HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
    • Partner and collaborate with hiring managers and talent acquisition team to strategize search approaches (internal and external) and assist in recruiting process to include preparation of job descriptions, identifying key competencies, participating on the interview team, and providing input and recommendation on offer formulation.
    • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
    • Provide performance management guidance to leaders (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
    • Consult, counsel and proactively coach managers regarding compensation alignment and equity regarding new hire offer packages, internal transfers, market adjustments, and promotional recommendations.
    • Provide counsel, guidance and coaching to line leaders/management on adherence to company policies and procedures as well as compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
    • Champion and participate in employee engagement activities and initiatives.
    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring compliance. Partner with legal department or outside counsel as needed/required.
    • Serve as a vital link between local operations, functional and corporate teams, and foster collaboration between local HR teams, corporate HR, enterprise services and across teams within the regional facilities being supported.
    • Lead small and large projects that may cross functions, divisions, and facilities. Qualifications:
      • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field required; Master's degree a plus
      • Minimum of 4+ years' experience in an HR Business Partner/Generalist role required
      • HR Project management experience required
      • SPHR or PHR preferred
      • Strong HR acumen required; deep knowledge of HR processes and working knowledge of most HR disciplines
      • Ability to build relationships and trust with strong skills in coaching and mentoring essential
      • Analytical and problem-solving skills essential, with the ability to see hidden problems and look beyond the obvious for answers; ability to leverage data to make decisions
      • Excellent conflict management and negotiation skills imperative. Ability to bring others together and reconcile differences
      • Strong knowledge of employment laws and practices, including OSHA required
      • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment required, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping. Experience with HRIS systems required
      • Strong oral and written communication skills essential. Must have strong presentation skills with the ability and passion to engage with others authentically, establish trust, build long-lasting relationships, and effectively influence at all levels
      • Excellent organizational skills and time management skills a must
      • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment essential
