The Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center in Waukesha, WI is hiring a full- time Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency team! Shift Schedule: This is a first shift position. About WVRC: WVRC, Waukesha is recognized as a certified Level 1 Emergency and Critical Care Facility by the Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society (VECCS). We have three hospital locations: Waukesha, Racine and Grafton all dedicated to providing patients, clients, and referring veterinarians the highest quality emergency and specialty veterinary medical care. This department requires weekends and some holiday coverage. Qualifications and Experience: - Minimum of 1 year of technical experience (ER experience preferred but not required) - CVT required at time of hire or within nine months of hire - Ability to work in a collaborative environment - Commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community - Excellent communication and organizational skills - Advocate for patient care - Self-motivated with a passion for veterinary medicine - Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment - Advanced technical skill set such as restraint, phlebotomy, catheter placement and general nursing care experience is required. General anesthesia knowledge is preferred. - Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus.
