Amergis Healthcare Staffing Inc APP is seeking a Physician Assistant Hematology / Oncology for a locum tenens job in Chicago, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Hematology / Oncology Discipline: Physician Assistant Duration: 26 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Locum Tenens Evaluate patients in infusion center who do not have a visit with oncologist that day Evaluate patients who have AEs on chemo if they do not have a same day provider visit See walk in patients that require assessment Cover for providers who are on consult service and see patients in their clinics Sign chemo orders for patients and dose modifications at the direction of the provider or clinical pharmacist Prescription refills if needed Return patient calls (symptom issues) that are escalated to them by clinic triage nurses/staff and triage their needs - do they need to be seen urgently in clinic vs go to ED vs resolution on the phone call Order NGS testing for patients (at the direction of the providers) Patient education around chemotherapy and toxicities. Patient Volume (daily and/or annual) 8-10 patients per day EMR system Cerner Number of Physicians/Support Staff in Department They will always have providers available to consult in clinic and infusion on all 5 days at all times. They will have clinical pharmacist to guide them in infusion as well. Required certifications IL DEA, IL controlled substance license, BLS Previous experience desired Must have 1 full year of clinical experience as a PA, with at least 6 months experience in oncology/hematology
