  • Pharmacist, Registered Education/Experience Required:
    • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree. This position will need to recognize the needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated i.e., understand child growth and development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging: prior experience with various age groups is preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
      • Good written and oral communication skills A good understanding of the clinical hospital environment.
      • General knowledge of IV solutions, aseptic technique, and chemotherapeutic agents.
      • Current Illinois Registered Pharmacist License. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
        • Frequent and rapid manipulation of syringes and needles can result in needle sticks.
        • The position requires the ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time and being in constant motion.
        • The position requires the ability to act quickly in responses to STAT or Emergency situations.
        • By virtue of its nature, the job is a highly stressful one.
        • The scope of this position requires flexibility in the schedule and work activities. There is a potential of exposure to toxic drugs and disease states.
        • The position requires the ability to lift up to 30lbs., as well as minor climbing.
        • The position requires the ability to work closely with others.
        • Pharmacists work under laminar flow hoods, biological containment cabinets, operate sophisticated measuring devices, pumps, word processor, personal computers, Allegra and Pharmnet terminals, and computerized drug purchasing equipment.
        • The Pharmacy Resident is required to be on rotation or working on-line twelve days per pay period. This job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent.
