Requirements:- Maintains active IEMA License- Minimum experience as
a RadiologicTechnologist, new grad accepted- Knowledge all areas of
general diagnosticradiology- Understanding of positioning and
techniquefactors as in Merrill's Directory- Able to perform all
common radiologicprocedures- ARRT Registry within one year
employment- IEMA License- Able to respond to request to work on
short notice- Flexible in starting times to meet demand- May
require rotating shifts and alternate days- Willing to work
overtime when requested- Able to periodically take call- As
required, must be able to transport, move, and lift patients-
Musculoskeletal hazard from large amount of job lifting-
Musculoskeletal hazard from repetitive motions- May be exposed to
ionizing radiation- May be exposed to infectious diseasesIf
position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the
following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting
requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when
patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling
equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other
associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement
situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.Purpose:To
perform routine and advanced radiographic procedures on designated
portions of the body for use by physicians in diagnosing and
treating patient illness and/or injury to ensure quality care. To
apply radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply
with government regulations to minimize dose and to ensure safety
of patients and staff.Accountabilities:Accountable for the
performance and documentation of all diagnostic procedures
utilizing proper technical parameters to produce quality
studies.Perform associated data center /clerical duties as
needed.Adherence to all accepted safety standards and practices to
ensure patient safety and quality patient care.Understand the
operation, technique factors, and idiosyncrasies of function of
commonly used radiographic systems in department. Maintains
appropriate competencies as defined by the ACR, Established
Regulatory Standards, IEMA and ASRT to and not to exclude any other
formal regulatory recommended requirements and/or newly revised
standards.Presenting and maintaining a professional
standardOperation of more advanced and sophisticated procedures to
include surgical rotational support and fluoroscopyAddendum:NOTE:
Comply with mandatory DeMedici Computer Program updatesMaintain CPR
Certification Must maintain professional decorum, and adhere to
dress code as required by department no deviations
allowed.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:- Attend annual inservices on fire
safety, infection control, and radiation protection- Attends
additional seminars- Joins society or professional organizations to
keep abreast of new developments- Requires a understanding of
confidentiality issues as they apply to staff, patients, and
information shared by supervisors- Works under frequent stress and
sensitive clinical settings- Must function under the established
guidelines of policies and procedures manual, and physician and
department standards
