Grant Thornton is seeking a Sustainability Manager to join our team. Approved office locations included below.
POSITION SUMMARY
Grant Thornton is seeking an experienced Sustainability Manager to join our Sustainability Team, which sits in the Office of the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer. The Sustainability Team is responsible for overseeing and managing the firm's internal sustainability and ESG initiatives and commitments, including progress toward our long-term greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction goals; the implementation of additional sustainable practices throughout the firm; reporting on progress annually through our ESG report, CDP filing and third-party rating agency efforts; engaging colleagues through national and local office initiatives; and continuing to mature our program through the development of KPIs and documentation of processes.
The Sustainability Manager will report to the Sustainability Associate Director and work closely with all functions and service lines to help develop and implement strategies that enable achievement of Grant Thornton's long-term goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Support and assist with the development and completion of Grant Thornton's annual ESG report, CDP filing, and third-party ratings agency assessment(s), as well as annual GHG assurance engagements


  • Manage and/or oversee data collection and evaluation processes from offices, HR, procurement and other groups to support reporting efforts; analyze data to understand annual progress


  • Participate in the design and updating of standard operating procedures and tools for ongoing monitoring of KPIs and to support program advancement


  • Assist with developing and implementing colleague engagement efforts, including but not limited to educational trainings and supporting efforts from the National Green Advisory Council and Local Green Teams


  • Support new strategies and initiatives that advance sustainable procurement, operational efficiencies, and the reduction of the firm's greenhouse gas emissions


  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and other materials to advance key sustainability projects


  • Research and analyze sustainability and ESG trends among peers, clients and other stakeholders; share creative ideas of how to integrate/improve program


  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned


    QUALIFICATIONS


    • Minimum 4-6 years of experience as a sustainability/ESG professional, or equivalent. Preferred experience includes:


    • Managing and/or contributing to GHG emissions data collection, calculations and reporting


    • Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks, including GRI, SASB and TCFD


    • Developing implementation plans for sustainability strategies


    • Participating in grassroots or employee-led sustainability efforts


    • High ethical standards and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and maturity


    • Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities


    • Ability to effectively project manage initiatives with cross-functional stakeholders in a large firm


    • Highly organized with strong project management skills; ability to manage complex processes


    • Strong execution skills, with ability to work independently while pursuing organizational and team goals


    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation development skills


    • Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) or equivalent experience


      The base salary range for this position in the firm's Denver, CO office only is between $98,000 and $163,300 per year.
      The base salary range for this position in the firm's Los Angeles, CA, San Diego, CA and New York City, NY office's only is between $105,800 and $176,400 per year.
      The base salary range for this position in the firm's San Francisco, CA and San Jose, CA office's only is between $112,700 and $187,800 per year.
