Program Director: Aerospace & defense Are you a leader looking

a growing mid-sized company that is part of a larger public
corporation operating in the aerospace and defense (A&D)
industry. As we proactively deliver strategic growth we value our
close, family culture. One particular business area is experiencing
significant growth as we ramp up production and repair of a
critical safety system for military aviation. We are seeking a
leader to join our team and be responsible for overseeing all
aspects of the business line. This opportunity comes with total
program management oversight and responsibility, and requires a
genuine leader who can coordinate all internal functions while
leading the team through a substantial growth period. The ideal
candidate will be a proven Program Manager with a passion for
growing business and will have the technical background that
enables them to easily interact with government program managers
and military aviation customers, as well as having the people
management skills to engage team members at all levels across the
functional spectrum. From our headquarters and production facility
in Downers Grove, IL, we deliver precision engineered solutions for
government and commercial A&D customers. This program has a
foundational contract with the U.S. Air Force to provide aviation
safety test equipment through a multi-year contract. The program
will significantly ramp up production in the near term with the
goal of maintaining a high, level production rate for the long
term. Responsibilities Include: the delivery and overall success of
a program that provides critical safety and maintenance equipment
to government military customers. ? Initiate and set goals to
deliver the program for testers on time and within budget ? Plan
the program from ramp-up to multi-year contract deliveries
including identifying and improving processes, deadlines, and
milestones ? Build a strong team through open communication and
collaboration on decision-making responsibilities ? Hire, train and
be a motivating mentor to the team. ? Discover and implement ways
to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people ?
Proactively manage the supply chain, the product Bill of Materials,
and obsolescence ? In collaboration with Engineering, manage the
technical configuration of the products that include hardware and
software ? Communicate regularly with our customers on program
progress and plans ? Communicate effectively with senior management
about program progress ? Coordinate with the Business Development
Team to increase the market penetration of our Aircrew System Test
equipment in military aviation markets with particular emphasis on
the U.S. Navy and the combined F-35 market ? Maintain situational
awareness of the customer environment ? Operate at a high technical
level - always striving to develop additional expertise ? Meet or
exceed targets for production and revenue. Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications: ? 10+ years of Program Management
experience (preferably in aerospace and defense markets) ?
Exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills ?
Demonstrated understanding and application of program management
processes ? Relentless focus on business performance ? Eagerness to
work at our facility in Downers Grove, IL, side-by-side with the
team ? Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year accredited college
or university ? Must be eligible to possess explosives under the
Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau
of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) ? Proficient with MS Office
Suite Desired Skills : ? Recent experience in military aviation,
safety systems, aircrew safety, and government acquisition
processes ? Program Management qualification (PMP, PMI, PgMP or
equivalent from DAU, a major corporation or professional institute)
? Background in leadership position of a production program ?
Understanding of Department of Defense acquisition system ?
