Within Microsoft Federal, the Business Insights team is the go-to
partner for insights and analytics needs of the Federal
organization. This team builds the relationships and engagement
model with stakeholders to understand the business goals, strategic
priorities, success outcomes & leads the end to end solution design
and development lifecycle all the way to the creation of business
The Business Intelligence Director combines business strategy &
digital vision and programmatic execution and you will be in a rare
position to enable and accelerate the data-driven transformation of
Microsoft Federal across the business lifecycle.
You will manage the team of Analysts driving transformation that
covers end to end analytic lifecycle of key initiatives across
various phases of business lifecycle. You will drive transformation
through application of modern statistical, Machine learning and AI
approaches that will help unlock business value through structured
analytic work streams. You will create new, scalable and
persona-based experiences to consume cutting edge insights for
critical business outcomes by creating powerful narratives.
This role provides the opportunity to lead defining and solving
business problems in an end to end manner. You will be engaging
with senior leaders and managing priorities in a fast-paced
environment. This role will require deep hands-on expertise on
aspects of analytical frameworks including aspects of data
engineering and data science/statistics required to create
non-obvious insights for the business. A key requirement for this
role will be to architect Descriptive, Inquisitive, Predictive, and
Prescriptive Insights by integrating, synthesizing, merging, and
transforming the existing BI & reporting data engines. If you are

+ Ten (10)+ years of relevant experience in managing and/or being
part of large scale and complex programs with focus on BI &
+ Strong experience in managing relationships with business leaders
and executives, leading a portfolio of engagements or programs,
enabling leaders to make data-driven decisions.
+ Experience managing and leading a diverse team of Analysts,
setting goals and strategy and delivery BI for a large
+ Proven track record of shipping highly scalable and reliable
analytical solutions through multiple cycles.
+ Bachelor's in business management, information technology, or
related field, and/or equivalent experience.
+ Skills and experience in SQL Integration & Analysis Services,
Power BI or similar open source BI tools or open source platform
and preferred skills in big data technologies, Hadoop.
+ Ideally some hands-on experience in machine learning and advanced
statistical modelling techniques, including ability to interpret
model results and communicate recommendations based on efficacy of
application of analytics. Familiarity in one or more of Azure ML,
Python, R, or related tools / technologies.
+ Experience in leading insights & analytics related engagements
and partnering with teams that build complex analytical models.
+ Business acumen across a professional services organization.
Broad business acumen with the ability to translate abstract
thoughts into understandable messages for wider consumption.
+ Ability to act as a liaison between business stakeholders and
subject matter experts. Excellent customer service skills, with an
advanced understanding of relationship building.
+ Able to deal with ambiguity: can effectively cope with change;
can shift gears comfortably; can decide and act without having the
total picture; can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty.

The salary for this role in the state of Colorado is between
$144,600 to $216,600. At Microsoft, certain roles are eligible for
additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards
are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain
roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on
revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the
