Job Description Job Description Deepview Talent Support is supporting a South Chicago automotive Tier 1 manufacturer in the search for a Controls Engineer. This on-site role will support safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations by designing, programming, implementing, and maintaining automated control systems across the plant. The position focuses on reducing downtime and scrap, improving process performance, and supporting continuous improvement through automation and controls optimization. Key Responsibilities: - Support production by reducing equipment and tooling downtime and scrap through analytical troubleshooting - Design, program, test, and commission control systems including PLCs, HMIs, and automated equipment - Program and modify automated equipment to support production, safety, and quality requirements - Design and specify electronic controls for manufacturing processes, including review of vendor proposals and control devices - Maintain and improve process controls equipment for reliability, efficiency, and compliance - Support plant and process improvements including layout changes, automation upgrades, equipment selection, and ergonomic improvements - Document controls activities and projects, support maintenance technicians, and communicate risks or issues to management Qualifications: - Hands-on PLC logic and programming experience - Experience with HMI and SCADA systems - Electrical and mechanical proficiency including panel layout, wiring schematics, and blueprint reading - Experience with industrial controls networking, VFDs, and automated manufacturing systems - Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD - Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment Additional Details: - Full-time, on-site role in South Chicago, IL - Automotive manufacturing environment - Benefits available for eligible employees include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off Company Description Deepview Corp. partners with reputable industrial contractors and manufacturers across Michigan to connect skilled trades professionals with long-term, stable opportunities.
