Our R&D department in Belleville, IL and New Berlin, WI
location is now looking for a Lead R&D Engineer.EssentialDuties
and Responsibilities:Leadteam of engineers, designers, and/or
technicians in the development of PermobilSeating and Positioning
products. This role includes both individualcontributions to and
management of design, evaluation, and testing activities. Youwill
work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing,
Quality, Operations,and Sourcing to ensure that our products meet
the highest standards of qualityand performance. The ideal
candidate will have a strong background in medicaldevice
development, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to
driveprojects from concept to completion.-Lead the design,
development, and testing of new Seatingand Positioning medical
device products from concept to production
-Conduct research to identify technologicaladvancements that
address new and unmet user needs
-Manage project plans, including timelines,budgets, and resource
allocation to ensure successful project completion
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams, includingregulatory,
quality, and manufacturing to ensure compliance and
successfulproduct launch
-Mentor and guide a team of engineers, providingtechnical expertise
and fostering a collaborative environment
-Prepare and present technical reports,documentation, and
presentations to stakeholders
-Stay current with industry trends, standards, andregulations to
ensure the company's products remain competitive and compliant
-Develop and validate prototypes through testingand analysis using
standard engineering tools
-Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues thatarise during the
development process
Educationand Qualification Requirements:
-Bachelor's or Master's degree in BiomedicalEngineering, Mechanical
Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in electro-mechanicalmedical
device development
-Proven track record of leading projects, teams,and external
resources or partners in a research and development setting
-Strong knowledge of medical device regulations, standards,and
quality systems (e.g., FDA, ISO)
-Strong understanding of electro-mechanical designprinciples,
materials, and manufacturing processes
-Excellent problem-solving, analytical, andcommunication skills
-Proficiency in engineering software and otherrelevant engineering
tools (i.e. CAD, FMEA, Six Sigma, etc.)
-Ability to work independently and as part of ateam in a fast-paced
environment
