Job Description Description: POSITION SUMMARY The primary responsibility for this position is to serve as a technical liaison between Hirose Japan, US Sales, and customers in the use and application of Hirose products. This position will provide advanced technical support for existing Hirose products and will develop concepts based on customer and Sales input to recommend to HRS Japan Engineering for consideration. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESServe as the primary advanced technical resource to Sales team and Hirose customersCommunicate directly with customers for all application support questions, performance spec and data inquiries, and new product development requestsHelp expand Sales teams' technical presence within key customer accountsUnderstand customer technology direction information and summarize and share those trendsAssist Hirose Japan Engineering to identify new connector design opportunitiesUnderstand customer applications and competitor's products by teardown analysis and by measurement and create the reportSupport Technology and Product demonstrations as requested by SalesSet Priorities with assigned supervisor and appropriate Sales contactUnderstand how to use and maintaining electrical equipmentPreparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES15% travel throughout the assigned territory as neededEmployee must complete their tasks per ISO9001-2008 requirements, when applicable COMMUNICATION AND INTERFACEExcellent verbal and written communication with all departments and customersExcellent presentation skills for both internal and customer meetingsProactive, creative and a sense of urgency in response to customer requests PROBLEM SOLVING AND JUDGEMENT A strong level of engineering aptitude with ability to communicate technical solutions, along with a full understanding of all Hirose product lines is required to help address and solve customer related problems. The person may be required to learn SI knowledge in line with the task assigned. Requirements: REQUIREMENTSBSEE or BSME is requiredExcellent communication, presence, and presentation skills to work with internal teams, external partners, and customersStrong ability to organize and drive projects with effective project management skillsProficient computer skills: 3D/2D CAD, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPointFamiliarity with Salesforce.com or another CRM package a plus, but not requiredAbility to travel to Japan if needed.Positive attitude, proactive mentality, team player, responsive with a strong work ethicCross-cultural work experience is a plus, preferably with Japanese companiesMust be able to work with engineering in Japan overtime as neededSelf-motivated & positive attitude with great energy.
