Overview The Transition Engineer works within a dynamic IT Infrastructure & Operations team that is accountable for planning, building, delivering and supporting solutions that align with technology and business strategic goals. The primary focus of this role is on implementing and integrating various technology solutions with an emphasis on transformation and transition from a traditional workplace into a modern workplace. This role will act as a technical transformation leader and will assist in strategic planning initiatives. What You Will Do Coordinate implementation with ISPs, MSPs, hardware vendors and other HAVI Technology Teams. Completes assigned tasks and implementation projects in a timely fashion. Develops documentation of environments to accurately reflect the as-built information of the technical solution delivered. Plans, coordinates, and communicates any Service Delivery enhancements, upgrades or process modifications. Collaborate with other areas of the business to identify specific technical needs and identify requirements. Deliver solutions to business groups and departments who have specific technical needs that need to be addressed. Develop a handover checklist for Operations and Field Services to support. Serve as the technical escalation point for Field Services technicians. Assist in mentoring Field Service Technicians through example by providing excellent customer service, recommending solutions to critical/challenging issues, prioritizing issues, sharing experiences and guiding/counseling on issue resolution. Collaborate with the Solution Architecture teams on solution alignment and standardization. Interface directly with Solution Architecture to design efficient and effective solutions that meet business requirements and focus on the user experience. Execute tasks such as global implementations and solution integrations, requiring the application of advanced IT infrastructure knowledge, skills, practices, and procedures, along with creative insights in order to complete assignments successfully. Provide outstanding customer support, foster open dialogue, share diverse options and concerns through a trusting environment. Successfully work with the Solution Architecture and Infrastructure & Operations teams to engineer solutions that meet the HAVI strategic vision while driving innovative improvements. Provides integration of new applications and solutions into existing the existing infrastructure. Provides guidance and makes recommendations based on presented needs and expertise of a product or solutions capabilities. Will be Sr Specialist for assigned projects and assist all other engineers on the team with questions regarding the technical requirements or environment, in order to ensure a smooth transition into production. Keeps current with the latest technology; regularly attends technical training in order to maintain technical expertise. Follow the established Change Management policy and best practices. Perform other duties as required. Desired Skills & Experience Bachelor---s Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience) 5 years of experience working in Information Technology 2 years demonstrated skills in incident and problem management related to the End User computing Experience with Configuration Management, Agile, Lean IT, DevOps practices. Strong understanding of the ITIL framework Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. Strong working knowledge of a wide variety of Infrastructure and End User Technology Strong working knowledge with workstream collaboration tools (emphasis on MS Teams) including the technical architecture of these tools. Experience utilizing Project Management fundamentals Process-oriented, with exceptional documentation habits and expertise Ability to articulate requirements to support groups, process owners, and leadership Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Process-oriented, with exceptional documentation habits and expertise Technology solution knowledge to enable more complex implementations Needs the ability to logically track down issues, research, and apply resolutions with minimal direction. These issues may not always be purely technical in nature. Ability to operate in a fast-moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment with tight deadlines Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project (Intermediate) Strong hands-on experience with PowerShell and other scripting technologies that allow for the automation of repetitive tasks. Ability to prioritize workload and set the proper level of urgency to tasks Deliver personal, customer-focused, and professional service Demonstrates sound written, oral, and organizational skills Is organized with strong time management and communication skills. Experience and comfort in open communication and collaboration with others while working in a diverse, team-focused environment that reaches across functional and geographic borders.
