Duties and Responsibilities
The Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing (MNSON) invites applications for multiple clinical track faculty positions. We are especially interested in faculty engaged in teaching and scholarship in the following areas: *


  • Simulation, which also requires a clinical area of expertise, such as medical-surgical nursing, maternal-child nursing, or psychiatric-mental health nursing
  • Medical-surgical nursing, psychiatric-mental health nursing, obstetric nursing, or pediatric nursing for the hybrid learning option of the accelerated BSN track
  • Foundational sciences, with expertise to teach anatomy, physiology, chemistry, or microbiology



    These are non-tenure track open rank positions, for appointment at the Clinical Assistant Professor rank or higher based on the applicant's program of scholarship.

    The MNSON enrolls over 1400 students across three sites and includes 71 full-time faculty. Programs include a BSN degree with 4 study options, a MSN degree in nursing and healthcare administration, a DNP degree with tracks for preparation in nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialist roles, and a PhD in Nursing degree.

    Within the context of the Loyola University Chicago and MNSON missions, visions, values, and strategic initiatives, the faculty members will:

    • Teach in undergraduate and graduate programs as appropriate to expertise and program needs; these positions will have primary responsibilities in the undergraduate nursing program
    • Employ a variety of teaching/learning strategies in classroom, online, laboratory, and clinical settings
    • Collaborate with faculty on curriculum and course planning, improvement, and evaluation
    • Develop and disseminate scholarship that advances nursing practice and education
    • Engage in service activities consistent with the mission and strategic vision of the MNSON, University, and nursing profession
    • Contribute to the MNSON and University goals for inclusive excellence and antiracism

      Candidates for these faculty positions will possess:
      * Doctoral degree in nursing or a or a field related to primary teaching responsibilities


      * Eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Illinois (not required for foundational science position)


      * Potential to establish and maintain a program of scholarship, consistent with the expectations of rank.
