This position assembles, programs, and tests BTS Blinker signs, blinker paddles, RRFB, Beacons, ETO Blinker Signs, and DirecTimes. The position operates within a cell work environment where standardized work, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S principles are practiced. This position reports to the Production Manager. Position Qualifications: /n - Assembles custom orders according to engineered-to-order standards and documentation /n - Programs and tests finished products /n - Pack products into wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers using protective padding. /n - Participates in cell changeovers from part to part /n - Performs minor maintenance /n - Solves routine problems /n - Learns Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles and practice them on a daily basis /n - Conducts regular 5S audits and quality audits and checks /n - Shares and supports ideas for improvement in group meetings /n - Participates in group and individual improvement activities with team members, engineering, and management /n - Helps implement and support improvement ideas /n - Communicate with the Cell/Team Leader, Planner, and Management as required /n - Performs other duties as assigned /n /n Required Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities and Experience /n - Electronics - OMS law, AC/DC, Voltage/Amps, solar controls /n - Mechanical ability /n - Able to read, and interpret electronic and mechanical work instructions, drawings, and schematics /n - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. /n - Communication skills - strong verbal, listening, and written /n - Able to analyze and solve routine problems with a variety of concrete variables in situations where some standardization exists. /n - Computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, testing /n - 1 - 2 years prior relevant experience within the industry /n - Prior experience assembling panels, wire harnesses, and/or other electrical control /n - Prior experience working in a team/cell-based environment /n - Able to lift up to 35 lbs and able to stand for 75% of the day. /n /n About Us: At TAPCO, our mission is to enhance transportation and personal safety in our communities through innovative solutions and products.
