Job Description:
Purpose: The Accountant / Sr. Accountant will apply the
established accounting principles to properly record, analyze and
report on the company---s financial records. The Accountant will
properly apply the company---s standard operating procedures as
well as adhere to the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
(GAAP) to assist in the preparation of its internal and external
financial reporting, and the control of assets. Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Perform
month-end close responsibilities including, but not limited to,
journal entries, expense reviews, accruals and intercompany
transactions Prepare and review the monthly account reconciliations
Ensure all company financial transactions are properly recorded
Assist in preparing income statement fluctuation analysis and
monthly analysis of company operating performance Researches and
provides recommendation on accounting or process issues Assist in
on-going internal control testing in conjunction with other
accounting department personnel Ensure compliance with company
policies and procedures Protect company assets by keeping
information confidential Identify probable areas of improvement and
communicate as appropriate Ability to receive guidance with respect
to overall objectives and operates within department procedures
using independent judgment to achieve assigned accounting
objectives Manage time to assure compliance with key accounting
submissions and deadlines Perform special projects and other duties
as assigned Ability to work effectively in a team as well as
independently, as required Qualifications and Requirements: The
qualifications and requirements listed below are representative of

Education/Experience: Bachelor---s degree with major in accounting
(CPA or MBA a plus) from a four-year college or university; and
three to five years related experience and training. Language
Skills: Relies on written and verbal communication. Ability to
research, analyze, and interpret general accounting transaction to
respond to common inquiries and to members of the internal business
units o Well-developed verbal and written communication skills to
effectively interact with diverse groups of constituents, including
directors, peers and staff members. Technical Experience: Specific
industry or position skills. o Proficient personal computer skills
including e-mail, MS Word, record keeping, routine database
activity, and general analytical reports o Expertise in using MS
Excel for analytical and reporting including the use of Vlookups,
Filters, Sumif, Pivot Tables and general financial functions. o
Knowledge of GAAP. o Preferred knowledge of AS/400, accounting
systems, and Microsoft Office. Mathematical Skills: Ability to work
with mathematical concepts, fractions, percentages, ratios, and
proportions to practical situations. Specific Skills: Involves a
high degree of responsibility for working with, safeguarding and
controlling highly restricted information, knowledge or important
confidences and criterion related to research and development of
customer data, future plans, policies, business prospects,
finances, etc. the release of which could have a detrimental effect
and impact on the company---s affairs or undermine its competitive
position. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect
data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions to present to the
Accounting Manager. o Ability to prioritize and manage multiple
projects simultaneously. Physical Demands and Work Environment: The
physical demands and work environment described here are
representative of those an employee encounters while performing the

activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an
administrative nature. While performing the duties of the job, the
employee is regularly required to sit, reach/handle items, work

telephone or in person. The employee is occasionally asked to lift
objects of up to 25 lbs. Work Environment: The noise level is
moderate based on general conversation tones, ringing phones and
laser printer operation. Works in well-lighted, heated and/or
air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
